about

This song is about ecological devastation per global warming, the lack of availability of drinking water in many impoverished nations, and basic human greed. It is also laced with several references to Meso-american mythology concerning the "end of human civilization." Guitarist/vocalist Jeff Braytenbah was inspired to write this song after reading about the growing global water shortage and its connection to the genocide being perpetrated in Darfur.

lyrics

Whisper the end as we fall
Through the boundaries of Quetzalcoatl
Masters of time usurp the throne
Hollow kings carved from eroding stone
Feel our curse
Raping the Earth
Waters of life turn to sand
Wander the fathomless desert of Man

Whisper the end of time
Trapped in our own design
Follow the dying light
Swallow the sun… it will not shine for us

Whisper the end as we die
With the banner of greed flying high
The children suffer at our feet
We ignore them as the vultures feed
Inherit the meek
They slaughter the weak
Wander the desert of Man
The waters of life evaporate from our hands

Feel our curse
Raping the Earth
Inherit the meek
They slaughter the weak
Here we fall
Down to our knees
There’s no cure
For this disease
